Congratulations to you both. What an achievement. It must feel really good - at last you can relax a bit, but is the car in any fit state for Paul????

Sophie, it all sounds a bit nighmareish - insects, heat, food, roads, water, driving!!!!!!!! Hope the good outweighs the bad? All I can say is that it's a jolly good job you're not a 'pink & fluffy' type of girl!!! Well done you. V:>)))

Hi there all you fine people. Great rally and many sincere thanks again for your kind support of SWORDE-Teppa. We are very sorry we did not get to the launch, but no funds available. W are glad you all seem OK, despite the odd rng turn, loss of wheels, Ambo tea party incident. We'll be tracking you every day. My mobile is ++992 907 762629. Thus if get stuck in Tajik territory or maybe even Uzbekistan, give us a call. We may be able to help with friends in 4x4s. That is only a maybe, but possible! Good luck (be careful of donkeys on the road and yaks - especially when you try and milk them for the tea) and we look forward to seeing yo ALL very soon.

Hi Emma, we do indeed have Pauls contact details and can forward them to you if you provide an email address (if you don't want to post it here use the contact form, accessible from the 'join us' page. We hope to do some volunteering ourselves after the Rally is over this year. Feel free to drop us an email and we can do all we can to help - SWORDE are always in need of volunteers!

Corsa for sale from the same guy we just got our car from. Looks ok (yeah, it's sml) but if you are still looking for a car could be an option.

Apologies for the empty first post - slight hiccup with the browser.
Just wanted to pop in and say hello, desperately looking forward to the upcoming trip. News of the party with the Ambassador to Tajikistan is pretty interesting and promises to be fun. Tony, Greg and I are Australians, though we're all partial to tea or beer.
Hope to see you all soon.
All the best,
James and Greg

We are encouraging teams to sell/give away/trade and generally do whatever they see fit with tea. The idea behind this is that sharing a cup of tea is of course a social event, and some of the best stories from an event such as this will come from the teams interaction with the people and cultures they meet along the way. We want to encourage entrants not just to blast through a country without stopping - especially as some of the countries we aim to pass through have some very hospitable people, and this is a chance to reciprocate. Encouraging teams to take a break from driving once in a while, have a nice cup of tea and offer one to a passer by - be it a local farmer, policemen, etc, is going to open a window to experiance another culture in a way they might not have otherwise. It is up to teams to what extent they wish to embrace this concept, however we do expect them to at least make a token effort.

Let me start by saying I'm not a Brit, so not as savvy with the tea thing (though I *have* been known to drink a good chai now and again). So, I'm not really catching on to the tea part of this rally. Will the teams be selling tea along the route for the charity? Or just sharing a cuppa with whoever crosses their paths?
